Deleting Temporary Internet Files for AOL UsersThis information is current as of Dec. 15, 2004. AOL may have changed their service by now, but we include this information in case it is helpful to you. Have you noticed that even though you have updated your web site, when you view it in AOL it still shows the old version. Normally it means that you simply need to delete your temporary internet files, but, in the case of AOL, It may continue to show the old version for an extra day or two even though the changes have been made. We are not quite sure why, but we have found a remedy. As you know, AOL does things a little different than everyone else. Their techs will tell you all you need to do to delete the temporary internet files is right-click the big blue E (Internet Explorer) on the desktop, click properties and then click the button to delete the temporary internet files, We've found that you have to do one more step in addition to the standard delete. We know that it is the same thing as deleting the temporary internet files in IE, but if you're having problems seeing updates. Try it. We've found that deleting the temporary internet files in both places fixes the problem many times. |
